Are all of you serious? We live in a civilized country, go to a good school and then immediately condemn a person who has been charged with a crime. Stop going after this kid's facebook and personally attacking him. He has not been found guilty at this point in time and for everyone to automatically assume that he is guilty is pretty rephrensible and irresponsible. While the police might have evidence and whatnot, it is up to the judicial system to determine his guilt, not the presumptions of many students.

Furthermore, even if this kid is the one who did it, it changes nothing to insult him on this. Like any other situation at any other school, we need to be responsible people, understand why this situation arose and make sure that it never happens again.

I'm personally disgusted by everyone who attacks this kid without all of us knowing whether he actually did it or not, and secondly, the circumstances. Yes, I also creeped his Facebook, but he doesn't seem to be some sort of criminal mastermind, just a dumb kid.

I empathize with every one who was misplaced in the Brandon fire, and I have many friend who were part of these, but I don't think that such an angry reaction helps anything. Be positive, forget being angry, life will go on and in 2 years it will be trivial.

Yes because you are oh so qualified to make judgments about someones mental state of mind. The whole idea is just so... silly!
Instead of attacking your fellow students like you're doing to me, perhaps you need to stop worrying about hypothetical situations that may not happen. And even if they do, it's no concern to you or to me, really.

As per your second point, I may very well be a psych major and thus qualified to make those kinds of judgment. kthnxbye!

hey guys just want to share a bit of info about facebook. Back in my hometown (Scarborough) I don't know if it was last year or the year before an incident happened surrounding facebook. Some people from another school put threating/ offensive notes about a teacher on facebook. Some how the police found the people who wrote the notes and they were charged and suspended. So just letting you know you can get charged even though facebook. Just a little info for people who are intrested

Yup, the same thing happened at Robert F. Hall secondary school (the school in my village, but not the one I went to) last year.

You have to be very careful what you say and do online...it can have a huge impact on you.

plus some of you may remember the McKay CA thing from 06-07... people were fired because of stuff on facebook.

either way, I'm sharing the same feelings as you, Rohan. None of understand what really went on so let's leave it to the courts and leave the guy alone.

Also, how bout we refrain from the unnecessary sarcastic comments against one another and be happy!

And it's not right--that's called an invasion of privacy and the police are abusing their power. Shame on them.

When you have a licence to practice, then and ONLY then are you qualified you make those kinds of judgments.

And if you think that I'm attacking you, well I'm sorry, but having a debate with someone is not attacking them. If you're so concerned about how I treat my fellow students then maybe you should realize that by warning students how they could possibly get in legal trouble for their angry remarks I'm hoping to save a few the trouble of being charged.

You may want to read the privacy statement of Facebook, the police have every right to use it if they feel that the need is great enough. And when your privacy settings are open, you're inviting it. Its the same as police having your records pulled from school or work. They have the right if they feel it is necessary

And do you support that?

Also, it's insulting that you think you need to warn people to not threaten the guy, as if they're not smart enough to figure that out on their own.

HELLO! LOOK AROUND YOU! Student(s) were STUPID enough to set fire to an elevator that may have killed almost 600 people,if not more (students, fire fighters, police, not to mention any guests staying over for the weekend), and you think it's too out there to warn them? That I'm not giving people enough credit to figure this out on their OWN?

I never said that I supported facebooks policies. And while you're at it, go ahead, look me up. You can't view my profile can you? Which means that no one else, unless my friends, given permission by me, or Police with a WARRANT can look at my profile. Besides, I don't put any personal information on ANY online site that can lead to people finding me or condemning me for anything I may or may not have done.

He was caught. It's done. I know this may be difficult for some but you need to move on. We don't need to get all nosy like the paparazzi. People make mistakes-- some bigger than others. However, let's learn from this mistake and make sure it is not repeated. Don't waste time hating on him or on facebook or anything. Why don't we try turning all of this negativity into something useful or at least positive? When has hate ever proved to be beneficial?

I agree with Sabrina here, everyone can make really really stupid decisions and this whole thing shows it. I personally think its a great thing that Sabrina warned people. It's people's call to follow the warning or not, but you CAN get in serious trouble for posting threats on someone's wall. I dont find it insulting one bit that she warned us Alistir, I think it was smart.

As well, I agree with Rohan and Temera, its over, so enough said, he's going to get his punishment, leave it to the law.

The people with insane privacy settings are pretty creepy, if you ask me. What are you trying to hide?
